  • Mockup and prototype. Improved on the final version of the UI that will be shipped with the game. 

  • Ensured controller compatibility. The game can be played with a controller and its reflected via the different states of the UI elements.

  • QA reporting. Did multiple play through to find and report bugs with the reproduction steps and gifs.

  • Fixing QA bugs. Learnt to use existing systems to fix several level-related and UI bugs.

  • Level design. Helped to fix some level design bugs and suggested various areas to smooth out the gameplay

  • Worked in a small team. Worked closely with the design and tech team. 

Summary

I was brought on board as an additional pair of eyes and hands to help out the team for the last stretch. My tasks ranged from UI/UX design to QA testing to bug fixing and other miscellaneous tasks.

Project summary

Hirogami is a 3D action platformer inspired by the ancient Japanese art of origami (paper folding). Everything you encounter has been crafted to convey the physical, often fragile, natural world of paper, amidst a story interwoven with threads of wistful intrigue.
